# OKF notes

OKF (Open Knowledge Format v0.1) is an open format for knowledge an agent can read:
plain markdown files with YAML frontmatter, no proprietary client. ContextFile uses
OKF as the internal form of brain wikis and reads OKF folders, tarballs and git
bundles as evidence.

We add a namespaced `cf:` block to the frontmatter. A plain OKF reader ignores it; a
reader that knows it gets the receipt.

```yaml
title: Postgres conventions
cf:
  report: sha256:...     # digest of the signed report
  floor: 0.95            # the floor this file was published at
  lineage: []            # context files that influenced this one
  errata: []             # corrections, newest first
```

Archives are read without following links, and a path that escapes the archive
refuses the whole archive. Every document is scanned for prompt injection and
quarantined if it fails, before it can enter a corpus.
